Product Overview

Titanium Billets are semi-finished metallurgical materials used for industrial forging, CNC machining, and component manufacturing.

Compared with raw cast ingots, forged titanium billets provide:

Refined Microstructure: Homogeneous grain distribution through thermomechanical processing.

Higher Density: Internal porosity and cast voids are eliminated during forging cycles.

Machining Stability: Reduced residual stress minimizes dimensional distortion during milling and turning.

Manufacturing & Quality Control Process

Every billet goes through controlled thermodynamic steps and verification:

Vacuum Melting: Double or triple Vacuum Arc Remelting (VAR) or Electron Beam Melting (EBM) to eliminate non-metallic inclusions.

Forging: Multi-directional hydraulic forging cycles to break down cast structures and refine grain size.

Heat Treatment: Stress-relief annealing to stabilize properties.

Surface Finishing: Peeling, turning, or centerless grinding to remove surface defects.

Non-Destructive Testing: 100% Ultrasonic Testing (UT) per AMS 2631 / ASTM A388 to check for internal flaws.

Laboratory Testing: Chemical check via Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES) and mechanical tensile testing per heat number.

FAQ

Q: What is the difference between a titanium ingot and a titanium billet?

A: A titanium ingot is a raw cast product with large grains. A titanium billet is produced by forging the ingot, which closes internal porosity, refines the grain structure, and improves mechanical properties for final machining.

Q: Can I review the material certificates prior to shipment?

A: Yes. A digital copy of the EN 10204 3.1 Mill Test Certificate (MTC) and ultrasonic test reports are sent to your team for approval before dispatch.

Q: How do you satisfy aerospace cleanliness requirements?

A: For aerospace orders, we utilize multiple Vacuum Arc Remelting (VAR) processing to meet the macrostructure and cleanliness limits required by AMS 4928.

Q: What standard Incoterms do you support?

A: We ship under FOB, CFR, CIF, and DDP terms via sea, air, or multimodal logistics based on your procurement preferences.
